John van Rossem has been actively involved in commercial real estate leasing, sales, financing and consulting for the past eighteen years. He specializes in tenant and landlord representation for commercial real estate, with emphasis on retail, office and industrial product. He has completed transactions throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Florida.

Mr. van Rossem joined Sperry Van Ness in September 2002 as a Senior Associate. His duties are landlord and tenant representation, leasing partner for the SVN Equities Portfolio, and is involved in the acquisition of development opportunities for his clients. In six months, he has completed numerous retail and office lease transactions and has brought in over 1,000,000 square feet to be managed and leased by Sperry Van Ness Asset Management.

Prior to starting at Sperry Van Ness, Mr. van Rossem started his own firm, Spectrum Commercial Real Estate in 1997. Prior to that, he was employed at the Koll Company, as well as Kristoff-Manarino Commercial Real Estate where he was a partner. His duties were the same at both companies where he was responsible for tenant and buyer representation. During this nine-year period, he negotiated over 200 leasing and sales transaction with values totaling over $75,000,000. In addition to retail leasing, Mr. Van Rossem has represented clients who have leased over 150,000 square feet of office space and over 250,000 square feet of industrial space.

In 1985, Mr. van Rossem formed Pacific Rim Commercial Real Estate with two other experienced real estate brokers. Pacific Rim was a full service real estate company that represented retail franchisees with their franchise contracts, site selection, lease negotiation, and contracted for turnkey tenant improvements. He was able to place over 50 franchisees in locations from Santa Barbara to San Diego in a two-year period.

Mr. van Rossem is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Real Estate Finance. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
